SHEPHERD SHOT IN THIGH
* INVESTIGATION BY POLICE
(P.A.) WAIROA, January 13. A shepherd, Hira Smith, aged 28, who is living with his wife on Mr J. S. Jessep's Waihi station at Waikaremoana, was admitted to hospital yesterday suffering from a gunshot wound in Ills right thigh. His condition is serious, and a blood transfusion was necessary Inst night. The police, under Chief-Defective J. B. Young, arc carrying out an investigation. as it is evident that the wound was not self-inflicted.
