A recommendation for release, and adjournment of service sine die were given in three appeals. Canterbury Education Board for Herbert Lee Thiele, teacher. D. T. Boyd for David W. Boyd, farm worker, and George Arthur Hassall (appealing cn his own account).

Postponement of service was granted In the following cases:—Christchurch Gas Company for D. W. White (until May); Mrs T. Timms for Thomas Timms (until January). The appeal of V. C. Sparrow, carpenter, against Home Guard service, was dismissed. Reserved decisions were announced as follows; Leslie W. Spurr. release recommended. with training from June to August each year; Maurice I. Boyce, release recommended until March 31; George N. Kinzctt, release recommended: India Service Station for D, McTainsh. release recommended; Russell S. Busch, dismissed: W. V. Flute for N. H. Macpherson. dismissed; Philip James Bellamy, adjourned sine die; Arthur James Burge, postponement, until March; M. H. Buckley (against Home Guard service), dismissed.
