APPEALS ADJOURNED SINE DIE
Sir—l would like to know what happens when men are appealed for and their cases adjourned sine die. Does this mean they will be exempt from military service for the duration of the war, or are they recalled to defend their appeals. If so, how often. —Yours, etc., ~. „.... J. WALTERS. Hawarden, November 21, 1942. [The secretary of the Manpower Committee said yesterday that appeals which were adjourned sine die were normally reviewed within six months, but they could be reviewed at any time. No reservist was exempt from military service for the duration of the war. His service was merely postponed.]
