Baird, that the Minister of Education be requested to include representation of primary and district high school teachers on the secondary | schools syllabus revision committee re-1 cently appointed. | It was also suggested that the Min- j iSter should give representation to lay-; men. ; "No sound beginning can be made : with secondary education unless primary and secondary teachers co-operate for that purpose,” declared Mr Baird, when moving his resolution. Mr A. E. Lawrence said it was essential that lay people interested in edu- 1 cation shou'd be represented. “As a matter of fact, they are just as vitallv interested as anyone else.” he added, “and it must not be forgotten that they i foot the bill for education.”
