NO RAIL TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS
* Railway travel restrictions such as enforced in - the North Island will not be applied in the South Island during the Christmas holidays, according to advice received at the district traffic manager’s office in Christchurch, It was stated that while travel would not be restricted, there would be certain restrictions on trains and the size of trains because of a short-’ age of carriages through Armed Forces demands.
