In comment on recipes for humanised milk “Mother of Four” says that on medical advice her babies were on whole milk at nine months and codliver oil daily from birth and before a year on to solid foods —meat, eggs, cream, and fruit: “In consequence, sturdy, happy children, no illness, and splendid teeth.” “Bushman” says that he has always believed it possible and- necessary to use the skill of qualified members of the alpine and mountaineering clubs in training New Zealand troops to meet invasion. “It would make our forces much more efficient,” he says, if they were grounded in methods of “surmounting the natural difficulties of our hill and mountain country and in . . • the technique of crossing swollen and difficult rivers and streams,”
