MUSICAL EVENING
COLLEGE CHORAL SOCIETY The Canterbury University College Choral Society entertained friends with a musical programme at the college last evening. The programme was:—Three chorales from church cantatas of J. S. Bach. Sonata in E Minor for flute and piano by Handel (Mr Trevor Hutton and Miss Bessie Pollard). Four Elizabethan madrigals by Morley, Byrd, Farmer, and Benet. Magnificat, for alto solo, women’s chorus, flute and piano, by Vaughan Williams (Miss Phyllis Mander, mezzo soprano, Mr Trevor Hutton, flute). Three further chorales by J. S. Bach, The conductor was Mr F. J. Page, and the accompanist, to whom & presentation was made at the end of the programme, was Miss Bessie Pollard. Supper-was served after the performance.
