TESTING OF MILK
CITY COUNCIL INSPECTOR Approval of the City Council’s, proposal to provide an inspector for samp--ling milk has been received from the’ Minister of Health (the Hon.> A. H. Nordmeyer). The letter was read to the council last evening by the chairman of the milk committee (Cr, J. N. Clarke). > Mr Nordmeyer wrote that', the delay in accepting the council’s offer resulted from the department’s search for officers to do the work. Cr. Clarke said the inspector could now get- on with the job. Answering a question whether the prosecution of two of the largest vendors for selling milk with added water had been noted, Cr. Clarke said it had. He had been disappointed, but the Magistrate had not taken a serious view of the cases. The operations of the inspector would assist in ' the checking of such offences.
