When the Canadian owners sold some of their older vessels about 10 years •go the Canadian Conqueror was evidently acquired by the Italians and converted to a transport.
Guilty of Espionage. —Peter Franz Erick Donay, a former United States soldier stationed at Governor's Island, in New York harbour, pleaded guilty to espionage. Donay gathered and transmitted secret information written in invisible ink to Germany. The information included the army's secret annual—New York, August 14.
