WOMEN’S INSTITUTES
SUMNER Mrs Mauger, president, gave a demonstration on felt work to members of the Sumner Women’s Institute at their recent meeting. A case of goods had arrived at its destination overseas for Dr. Barnardo’s Homes, said the report. These goods consisted of warm clothing and quilts made and contributed by members. Mrs W. Perry handed in a jersey and Mrs Wells a pullover for seamen. Results of the competitions were as follows; Large bloom; Miss Butler 1, Mrs Morten 2. Small bloom: Mrs Morten 1, Miss Butler 2. RedclifTj.—Mrs Ebert presided at the August meeting and welcomed two new member*. A competition was won by Mrs Davis during the social interlude. The Rev. Mr Clark gave an interesting talk. Arrangements were made for the birthday party to be held in September. A motion of sympathy was passed with Mrs L. P. Lohguet in the diath of her son.
