POTATO STOCKS
SUPPLIES FOR CIVILIANS « NO FURTHER RELEASE IN THE MEANTIME” (P.A.) WELLINGTON, August 13. In reply to a question, the Minister of Supply (the Hon. D. G. Sullivan) stated/that apart from the stocks of potatoes held by retailers throughout the Dominion, no further release of potatoes could, be made for civilian use in the meantime. The Minister said he realised that stocks-held by the retail, trade 1 were very limited, tavit the position demanded that this curtailment of consumption be instituted until further supplies became available.
