APPOINTMENTS AND • • 'PROMOTIONS (P.A.) WELLINGTON, August 13. The following appointments and promotions of officers of the New Zealand Military Forces were gazetted to-night: Lieutenant-Colonel J. G. Jeffery, M.C., V.D., A.D.C., is appointed a fortress commander in the South Island, in addition to his appointment as an area commander, and is granted the temporary rank of colonel. Major R. Sinel, Reserve of Officers, New Zealand Artillery, is promoted temporary lieutenant-colonel, and is appointed Director of Mechanical Transport, Army Headquarters, vice Major (Temporary Lieutenant-Colonel) V. J. Innes, who is attached to the branch of the Quartermaster-General, Army Headquarters. ~ Captain S. C. Hay is appointed Deputy - Assistant - Adjutant - General, Northern Military District, and is granted the temporary rank of major while so employed. Major E. F, Laws, 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force, is appointed Deputy - Assistant - Quartermaster - General, Central Military District. Major F. R. Mcßride, 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force, is appointed Deputy - Assistant - Adjutant - General, Central Military District.
