WEDNESDAY (Before Mr E. C. Levvey, S.M.) SPEARED TROUT

A fine of £lO was imposed on John Arthur Sharpe, a tractor-driver, aged 21. of Burnham, for spearing trout. Mr M. J. Gresson, who represented the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Society, said that a ranger had seen accused with a party of soldiers spearing trout in the Selwyn river near the Norwood bridge. The ranger gave chase and caught Sharpe with a bag of 24 trout. HOUSING OFFENCES Ellen Glover, owner of property at 131 Lyttelton street, was charged with erecting a new building and adding to an existing building without a permit. The builder, John J.
