The Minister of Health (the Hon. A. H. Nordmeyer) arrived, in Christchurch yesterday to discuss the building programme of the North Canterbury Hospital Board with the works committee of the board. He was accompanied by Dr. R. A. Shore, Deputy-Director-General of Health. In the evening the Minister addressed, as vice-president of the Labour Party, a meeting of the Christchurch Labour Representation Committee. He will return to Wellington to-day. The Minister of Civil Defence (the Hon. W. A. Bodkin) spent yesterday in conference with the central executive of the Christchurch E.P.S. He will leave lor Wellington to-day. Mr D. Rowse has been re-elected to the board of managers of the Christ? church Technical College as a representative of the local bodies, and Mr F. M. Robson has been re-elected as a representative of the trades unions. Mr E. Hay has been re-elected president of the Canterbury Sheepowners’ Union. The vacancy on the committee caused by the death of Major A. N. Grigg has been filled by the appointment of his brother, Mr J. H. Grigg. There has been no change among the other officers. Reference' to the loss the Canterbury Sheepowners’ Union had suffered by the deaths of several of its members was made by the president (Mr E. Hay) at the annual meeting ye|terday. He said that two of these, Mr T. D. Burnett and LieutenantColonel E. B. Million, were past presidents, and with the late Mr Herbert Acton-Adams, were foundation members The late Major A. N. Grigg, M.P., was a member of the executive. Other members who had died were Messrs Leicester Matson, R. E. McDougall, T. B. Garrick, and J. L. Epson A resolution expressing apprecia. tion of these members’ services to sheepfarmers generally, and sympathy with their relatives, was passed by the meeting.-
