The service it has been possible to give the New Zealand forces from patriotic funds subscribed by the people of the Dominion is eulogised by Lieutenant-General Sir Bernard Frcyberg in a cablegram to the National Patriotic Fund Board received from him to-day. The (ext of the message is: ‘T would like the people of Now Zealand to know how much the National Patriotic Fund is appreciated at a time like this. The Y.M.C.A., the Church Army, and the Red Cross are doing great work distributing Patriotic Fund cigarettes, tobacco, writing materials, chocolate, parcels, etc. to the men in forward areas and to the wounded in the hospitals. May I on behalf of the N.Z.E.F. overseas, once again thank the people of New Zealand for their gift parcels and their generosity in subscribing to the patriotic funds?”
