CANTERBURY RESIDENTS IN AUCKLAND
* ——# The continued success of a club in Auckland composed" exclusively of former Canterbury residents, was demonstrated at its eighth annual meeting on May 1, when Mr Harry Frost, a former captain of the East Christchurch Football Club, and now president of the Auckland Rugby Union, presided. The annual report and balance-sheet showed that steady progress was being made and that old provincial ties were being maintained. Reminiscences of their early days in Canterbury were given by Dr. J. W. Mcllwraith, and the Rev. A. B. Chappell. The following officers were elected: —Patron, Archbishop Averill; president, Mr H. Frost; vice-presidents, Canon R. G. Coats, Messrs W. R. Fee; J. E. Green, W. E. Burley, T. Clarkson; secretary, Mr Minchin Rudd; treasurer, Mr Joseph Garrard; assistant secretary and treasurer, Mr C. V. Jones; committee, the Rev. A. B. Chappell, Messrs P. M. Curnow, T. Joll, J. D. Twentyman, C. K. Wigglesworth, J. A. Steele, N. N. Knight, J. L, Conlan, C. Hawkes, D. E. Parton; musical director, Mr Len Elliott; auditor, Mr H. Lawry; librarian, Mr J. E. Green.
