CRIMINAL LIBEL ALLEGED

A message from Concord, Massachusetts, states that Edward Htolton James, a nephew of the noted writers, William and Henry Jaimes, is held on bail of 10,000 dollars on a charge of criminally libelling Mr Roosevelt in his publication, “Yankee Freeman,” in which he demanded Mr Roosevelt’s resignation and collaboration with the Axis. James pleaded that he was innocent and said that gaol was a place of honour to enter with joy. James’s publication said that Mr Roosevelt’s policy was subversive of Yankee tradition from’ the moment he handed over the 50 destroyers to Britain.
