OPEN DEBATE ON WAR EFFORT

PARLIAMENT TO RESUME TO-DAY (P.A.) WELLINGTON, March 16. The House of Representatives will reassemble at 2.30 p.m. to-morrow. The Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser), announced this afternoon that there would be a secret session, and that he would leave it to the members themselves to say whether the secret session would proceed or follow the open debate on the war effort which is to take place. Mr Fraser added that he would also leave it to the members to say whether the House would be on the air, but his own opinion was that the debate should not be broadcast.
