BRITISH TOBACCO DIVIDEND SYDNEY, March 13. The British Tobacco Company has declared an interim 'dividend at the rale of 8 per cent, for the quarter to April 30 on ordinary shares, but no further interim dividend Is being declared untu the Government’s economic plan is completely clarified. HERALD AND WEEKLY TIMES MELBOURNE, March 13. An interim report by the directors of the Herald and Weekly Times, covering the half-year now closing, states thal operations have been conducted on a basis of newsprint, consumption amounting to only 40 per cent, of that of the "base year." . It adds that a census oC newsprint stocks throughout Australia shows that stocks held, plus production at the Tasmanian mills, are sulilcient to last a' least two years at the present rale oi consumption. ..
