GOLDEN WEDDING
MR AND MRS R. H. BAKER To-day, Mr and Mrs R. H. Baker, Grafton street, Linwood, will celebrate the golden anniversary of their wedding, which took place in Christchurch 50 years ago. Mr Baker, who is the son of the late Mr and Mrs F. Baker (St. Albans), arrived in Christchurch 65 years ago, on the sailing ship, Opawa. Mrs Baker, was born in Dunedin, and is the second daughter of Mr Robert Robertson, at one time superintendent 01 ‘he Dunedin Fire Brigade. Mrs D. Carpenter, who was Mrs Baker’s bridesmaid, will be one of the honoured guests at the reception, which will be held this evening. Others who will attend will be Mr and Mrs Baker’s three sons, seven grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
