ACCIDENTS
TRUCK-DRIVER KILLED <P.A.) WAIROA, January 14. When a lorry which he was driving failed to negotiate a turn on Waihua Hill, 12 miles from Wairoa, yesterday afternoon. William Harrison, aged 46, a married man with tour children, was killed instantly. The vehicle rolled over him. Edward Moetu, who was travelling with Harrison, suffered head injuries, but his condition is not serious. DEATH FROM BULLET WOUND (P.A.) AUCKLAND, January 14. William Short, aged 10, a son o£ Mr J. Short, of Mangere, died to-day. He was seriously injured on Tuesday morning when he was struck by a bullet when a pea rifle accidentally discharged. FRACTURED ARM Mrs Flora Archer, aged 67. Armftrong avenue, St. Martins, was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital With a fractured right forearm at 10.15 ®.m. yesterday. She received the injury when she slipped, and fell on a fain at her home. Tier condition last night was reported to be satisfactory.
