DAMAGE IN THE LEWIS PASS.—Two views of a bridge in the Lewis Pass damaged by shingle and boulders brought down by the recent heavy snowfalls. Normally the bridge has a 40-feet clearance; but the weight of shingle and dammed up water was so great that the railings had to be cut away to save it.
