SIR HARRY BATTERBEE’S ADDRESS

Sir, —I agree with every word of James Aitken. What is wanted is a man like Peter the Hermit, preaching a crusade, not against Hitler as against our national sins. Why are our spiritual leaders such “dumb dogs”? Has a single one cf them boldly taken up a series of fiery cross sermons, widely advertised, uncompromisingly calling people to repentance? Let such a one arise,' backed up by a band of faithful ones, constantly upholding his hand in prayer like Moses, while he, proving himself no charlatan, goes through New Zealand with an organised band of helpers wholeheartedly out to bring about a spiritual revival, a wholehearted turning to God.— Yours, etc., ST. MICHAEL’S DAY, September 29, 1941.
