PLEASANT POINT (P.S.S.) TIMARU, September 29 The large entry of fat cattle at Pleasant Point contained some pens of good quality steers. All classes met with a keen sale, and late rates were fully maintained. Prime steers made £l6 12s 6d to £l9 17s 6d, light to medium £l2 2s 6d to £l4 12s 6d, extra prime cows £l3 7s 6d to £ls 12s 6d, medium to prime £9 12s Bd to £l2 2s 6d, prime heifers £l2 2s 6d to £l4 12s 6d, light to medium £8 2s 6d to £1! 7s 6d. The two races of fat sheep were of good quality, but the entry was in excess of butchers’ requirements. Values eased by fully 4s a head on the previous sale. Extra prime wethers made 38s lOd to 40s lOd, prime 32s to 34s 4d, light to medium 28s 4d to 30s lOd, extra prime ewes 25s 4d to 27s 7d, medium to ptime 20s Id to 23s lOd, shorn ewes 15s 4d to 19s lOd. The small yarding of store sheep sold at late rates. Ewes and lambs made 11s 4d to 14s lOd, small halfbred ewe hoggets 20s.
