OFFICIAL FORECASTS (P.S.S.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 28. The weather forecast for Canterbury issued at 5 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 24 hours following (he time of issue, is as follows: Light to moderate variable winds. Weather fair to fine and rather milder. Further outlook fair. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Light to moderate variable winds. Weather fair to fine and cool, CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER A fresh south-west wind yesterday morning brought scattered showers, but later it blew clear and the afternoon was fine and sunny. The wind dropped ip the evening. At 1 o’clock this morning the sky was moderately cloudy, with a 1 very light north-west breeze. The barometer, which was falling 1 slowly, read 30.30 inches (1032.7 1 millibars).
