- 1 T ATTACK ON THE CRIMEA LONDON, September 25. Germany is developing an attack on the Crimea. It is thought that the Germans are using a force based on the eastern bank of the Dnieper. This force may consist of four divisions, or about j 70,000 men. It is not known how far the attack has developed. AXIS SHIPPING LOSSES IN MEDITERRANEAN LONDON, September 25. “One ship in every five leaving Italy for Libya fails to return,” declared a senior naval officer in Alexandria, commenting on recent Italian losses. He expressed the opinion that Italy bad now lost 30 per cent, of her mercantile navy, while a further 20 per cent, was probably imj mobilised for repairs, STATE OF SIEGE IN PARIS LONDON, September 25. An unconfirmed report from 1 France says that a state of siege > has been declared in Paris as a | result of new incidents. i !
