OFFICIAL FORECASTS (P S.S.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 25. The weather forecast for Canterbury Issued at 5 p.m. by the Meteorological Office. Wellington, and dealing with the 24 hours following the time of issue, is as follows: — A temporary change to the south-west likely during the day, with rain. Otherwise, moderate to fresh north-west winds and fair weather prevailing. Mild temperatures, becoming cooler with the wind change. WEST COAST The forecast for the West Coast of the South Island is:— Westerly winds, changing to south-westerly and freshening. Showery conditions generally, with cool temperatures. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather yesterday was very fine and warm, with long hours of sunshine. A moderate north-west wind blew all day.
