Whether the Greymouth Borough Council can, under a nartly-completed town-planning scheme, P er , l ? lt T^r e n JffI<r 1 < r of a building, now used as the Fernhill skating rink as a steam laundry, in face of the objections of representatives of the property owners m the vicinity, is a matter which occupied the attention of the council for over two hours at its monthly meeting. The subject came before the meeting when a deputation of residents was received. The secretary of the new company (Mr M. R. Bunt) was also it was decided to seek the opinion of the Director of Town Planning, and to obtain a legal opinion from the borough solicitor. A resolution that the issue of a permit be held up was defeated.
