Rest house for children, SOLDIERS, OR WOMEN

TIMARU, August 2a . ; Showinga preference, for the establishment of a camp in its own district, the South Canterbury Children’s Health Camp Committee recently decided riot to' accede to the suggestion that one camp should be formed at Glenelg, Christchurch, to serve the Whole province. Thfe South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce decided at its meeting last evening to support the committee in., its protest against the incorporation and to assist its efforts to establish a permanent health camp in South Canterbury. A proposal to form a permanent institution at Tekapo to serve as a children’s health camp, a convalescent home for soldiers, and a.rest home for women, was favoured by the publicity gnd progress committee, which suggested that, as the matter was urgent, a public meeting should be .called immediately. ’ ;The suggestion . was adopted by the chamber, which will invite all' organisations interested to be;present. , ’
