; Reference to the death of Mr A, I. Rattray, secretary of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting-Club, was made by the chairman of the Timaru Trotting Club (Mr E. Macdonald) at its meeting on Monday evening. A resolution of sympathy with the relatives was carried and members stood in silence as a mark of respect. •Mr William Thomas, of Timaru, was installed as Governor of the fifty-third district of Rotary International in succession to Mr D. A. Ewen, of Wellington, at the annual assembly of club presidents and secretaries, • Cabled advice has been received by Mr and Mrs J. S. Belcher, of Amberley, that their son, Sergeant C. W. Belcher, of the Royal New Zealand Air Force, previously reported missing, has now been reported interned at Algiers.
