♦ “ ELECTION OF OFFICERS Officers of the Royal Humane Society of New Zealand were elected as follows at the • annual' meeting of the society yesterday: Vice-patron, Canon W. S. Bean; president, Mr F. I. Cowlishaw; vice-president, the Hon. Sir R. Heaton Rhodes; court of directors, Messrs S. K. Bassett, C. A. Cooper, W. H. Nicholson, A. I. Cottrell, J. Leslie Will, H. Holderness, H. W. Hams, and Sir Joseph Ward; honorary auditor, Mr S. P. Godfrey: secretary and treasurer, Mr C. W. Hervey. , In its annual report, the court of directors said that contributions by local bodies throughout the Dominion in - the last year showed an increase over all previous years. During the 15 months pnded on March 31, 1941. 17 awards had been made—one silver, medal, four bronze medals, seven certificates, three letters of commendation, and two letters of appreciation. .
