THE "V” CAMPAIGN
Sir, —The victory campaign recently started by our great leader, Mr . Churchill, has not only caught on in the German-occupied countries of .Europe, but in Mayfield district. One can see there nothing almost that has not a V marked on it. I had to make a few inquiries before I realised the idea. A sawmill had the saw, huts, trucks, etc., marked with a V, and also had it chalked on the seats of the employees’ trousers and the backs of their coats. This certainly shows the heart-felt, patriotism of those gay lads.—Yours, etc., FREQUENT CALLER. July 29. 1941.
