TOUR OF WEST COAST
* VOCATIONAL GUIDANCE OFFICERS Three Vocational Guidance officers from the Christchurch Youth Centre will leave shortly on a tour of the West Coast—the first for some years—to carry out advisory and other vocational work for schools, pupils and parents. They will be Mr N. S. Woods, secretary of the centre, Mr G. M. Keys, and Miss Robinson. The tour will extend to the West Coast the work of the centre as carried out in Christchurch, including discussions with teachers, pupils and parents, addresses on the broader aspects of the welfare of children at school and at work, and the securing of data about pupils leaving school last year and about the incidence and spread of vacancies for boys and girls on the West Coast. Inquiries will be made on the prospects of employment for crippled children/and leading employers will be interviewed.
