£4OOO A MONTH NEEDED
PATRIOTIC FUND WORK OVERSEAS
(P.A.) ' WELLINGTON. June 21. “Keep on sending us £4OOO on the first of each month,” is a request made by the Overseas Commissioner of the Patriotic Funds Board (LieutenantColonel the Hon. F. Waite) in a recent dispatch from Egypt to the board. It is being met. “From day to day we* cannot anticipate the needs,” states Colonel Waite. “The work will widen and grow.” Colonel Waite pays a tribute to the men who were in Crete. He speaks of the provision that was made to supply the troops there with comforts, and the work of the YJVLC.A. as the board’s expending agents. He says he collected many cable messages and letters from men in hospital, and forwarded them.
