MARIST CLUfi HOLDS HANDICAP 1 RACE

The Marist Club held a six and a halfmile open handicap race on Saturday. R. Sweeney and A. Keirnick laid the trail thrrough Hagley Park. Riccarton, Addington. and Spreydon. Members were guests of the president, Mr J. Sweeney, and Mrs Sweeney, Torrens road, Hillmorten. Results:—A. O’Byrne 1, D. Cartwright 2, T. Fitzsimmons 3, W. Kenny 4. K. O’Byrne 5, H. Goggin 6. G. DUNEDIN THREE MILES’ EVENT

DUNEDIN. June 22. The Edmond Cup steeplechase, a harrier event of three miles, was won by H. Nelson. aged 18. W. Burrows was second and A. R, Geddes third. Considering the heavy state of the course. Nelson’s time, of llmin 19 2-ssec, was very creditable.
