MR. CUDAHY'S IMPRESSIONS OF HERR HITLER

NEW YORK, Juno 20. Mr John Cudahy, formerly United States Ambassador to Belgium, provides an, interesting description of Herr Hitler’s ap l pearance and manner. Recently Mr Cudahy interviewed Herr Hitler. “Above all, I was struck by the unhealthy pallor of his skin,” said Mr Cudahy. “It had , the same look that prisoners have when sun is denied, them in a long period pi-confinement. He looked dyspeptic and dogtired, with puffed eyes. The story goes that he is getting less than four hours’ rest a night. He gave the impression of being utterly fatigued, of one whose nervous energy is nearly spent. His pyes were hard, unyielding, and fanatical, without one compromising note of sympathy or kindness. His voice was utterly lacking ‘in any sympathetic timbre. It had the harsh, frayed quality which one . associates with political orators at the close of a hard campaign. His laugh similarly was harsh and strident, as disagreeable as rasping automobile gears. He;has a humour• less; desperately hard face.’’
