FROM BUTTER TO CHEESE

(P.A.) AUCKLAND, June 20, A meeting attended by 150 suppliers of the Te Aroha-Thames Valley Dairy Company called to consider the proposal to change over from butter to cheese manufacture passed the following resolution: “That the Government be asked to meet the increased costs incurred by butter companies over and above their normal costs caused directly by the change-over to cheese.” A further resolution ■ carried was that if there was a change-over, compulsory costs would be approximately £75 a member, which the Government should meet or, alternatively, the costs should be spread 1 as a national effort.
