REPORTED PROPOSALS FOR NEXT' SEASON

(P.S.S.) DUNEDIN.' June 20, Proposals which, he said, the Internal Marketing Division considered introducing next season in the purchase of apples and pears were outlined by Mr S. G. Duncan, Otago member Of the. New .Zealand Fruit Board,; to a meeting of growers at Ettrick (Central Otago). ' i The third proposal; Mr Duncan, said,, was assembly marketing and purchase of fruit by size groups, All dUtsizes. large and small, would be paid, for oh a lower basis than the present allover payment on fruit received at the assembly sheds. The fdurth. and last proposal, Mr Duncan said, was the.. creation' of a fourth group in the price schedule to include the tow price varieties!;; The list of these varieties was a long one, and with the exception!- of a few'wellknown apples comprised sorts ■: that were not recognised as commercial, varieties. >’
