ENROLMENT IN RESERVE

SOME MISUNDERSTANDING OF PROCEDURE

Some' misunderstanding has apparently arisen of what is required of persons registering in the second division of the General Reserve. The Chief Postmaster (Mr V. C. Lawn) said yesterday that it had been noted that persons filling in form N.S.I for enrolment in the General Reserye were posting the completed forms in posting boxes. This was not the correct procedure. ■ At the foot of the form was a direction for posting: “Fold form into four to the perforated line at the top, gum down edge, and register at the post office." . , '. . , “The form,” he said, “is printed so as to be self-enveloping, and when properly gummed down is addressed to the National Service Department, Wellington. It should be handed in at the post office for transmission by registered post and not posted in the ordinary way. Postage is payable on delivery at Wellington.” , - -
