FURTHER REDUCTION IN AUSTRALIA

(Received June 20, 2 a.m.) CANBERRA, June 19. The Minister for Customs (Mr E. J. Harrison) announced that newsprint ratiorfing would rise from 33 per cent, to 55 per cent, from July 1. He pointed out that newspaper proprietors had voluntarily agreed to a 33 per cent, cut some time ago. The further restriction would mean a total saving of 94,000 to 103,000 tons of newsprint a year. _______________
