BANK OP NJS.W.^ANNIVERSARY.-90-day is the eightieth anniversary of the opening of the Christchurch branch of the Bank of New South Wales. This photograph, taken by Dr. Barker in 1867, shows on the right the first premises occupied by the bank, the site in Hereford street where the present butldtng stands. The building on the left is and Company’s original office, now the site of the Plaza Theatre. The tree on t- the right was in the Godley plot.
