THE TOWN CLOCK A report on the slate of the town clock prepared by Cr. T.« L. YoUng states that the brickwork of the clocktower is in a bad, even dangerous, condition, and recommends that the Public Works Department be asked to have an inspection made. The clock, which is the property of the Borough Council, is in good order. The report also mentions that the clock is the best timekeeper of any town clock in New Zealand, losing only 11 seconds a week, the next best being that of Wellington, which loses 15 seconds a week. tpb Let, unfurn.
