CONSOLIDATION BILL TO BE INTRODUCED (F.0.P.R.) WELLINGTON, June 10 ; Notice of his intention to introduce to-morrow the Christchurch City powering and Special Rates Consouciation Bill in the House of Representatives was given to-day by Mr T. «• McCombs (Government, Lyttelton). The bill gives the city power to construct access, ways and to consoliflfw New Brighton’s amalgamation wim the city. New Brighton is not spec** fically mentioned in the bill, whicn proposes to give general powers for the consolidation of rating to cover "future cases. . Asked to-night if any objections «* the bill had been received, Mr MCj Combs-said he had not been officially informed of objections, but he understood that opposition might be » a ° e bjr the Suburban Local Bodies’ Association to the general clauses.
