* —— PLEASANT POINT (P.S.S.) TIMARU, June 9. The medium-sized entry of fat cattle at Pleasant Point was of Indifferent quality. Values showed little change on late rates. Prime heifers brought £8 to £9 2s 6d. light to medium £8 to £7 |2s 6d, light to medium steers £6 12s 6d to £8 17s 6d, best cows to £8 12s 6d, light to medium £5 2s 6d to £7 2s 6d. The yarding In the fat sheep section was the largest for the year. The demand was again keen, and late values were fully maintained. An entry of 900 fat lambs sold at rates well in excess of schedule. Prime ewes brought 14s lOd to 17s Id, light to medium 11s 4d to 14s 4d, light to medium wethers 21s 4d to 25s 10d, prime lambs '2ss 4d to 28s lOd, light to medium 20s lOd to 24s lOd. With the exception of a few pens of hoggets there were no other quotable lines. Prices lor hoggets showed a definite firming on late rates. Extra good ewes brought 22s 6d to 245, medium 17s 6d, good wether hoggets 13s 4d, medium Bs. DUVAUCHELLE There was an entry of about 200 head of cattle at the monthly cattle sale at Duvauchelle on Friday, a smaller entry than usual. The entry of fat stock was smaller. Addington market rates were maintained, and only a few lines were passed at auction. A line of nine fat bullocks, the property of Mr W. H. Moore, Hickory, realised from £l2 to £ls 15s, the latter being the top price for steers. . The range of prices was: Fat steers £lO 12s 6d to £ls 15s, fat cows £4 17s 6d to £8 2s 6d, fat heifers £6 17s 6d to £l3 10s, calves £2 10s, rising two-year-oid steers £5 to £6 10s, heifers £3 10s, rising three-year-olds £6 18s to £8 7s 6d, store cows 15s to £4 Sa.
