Mrs Jessie Watt, the oldest living resident of Wanganui, where she h«s lived for 70 years, attained her hundredth birthday yesterday. Mrs Watt was born in Glasgow, and came to New Zealand in 1882. She received a congratulatory cable from the King, and telegrams from the GovernorGeneral, the Acting-Prime Minister (the Hon. W. Nash), and also from the Mayor, City Council, and citizens of Wanganui. She has four children, 25 grandchildren, and several . greatgrandchildren.
