GREYMOUTH BOY’S DEATH
(F.0.0.R.) GREYMOUTH. May 2. Charles Ray Larcqmbe. aged nine years, only child of Mr and Mrs Charles Larcombe. Shakespeare street, Greymouth. died at the Grey Hospital this morning, after an operation on the head, necessitated by an injury he received almost three weeks aS On Easter Tuesday. April 13, he was playing with other boys hear the brick Kiln at Karoro and during their games, it is believed, he was struck on the head by a stone. He showed no immed ate ill-effects irom the blow and continued to attend school. Subsequently, however, his condition became unsatisfactory, and a few days ago it was found that a fracture of the skull had occurred. He was admitted to the Grey Hospital yesterday and an operation was performed this morning. He died during the operation. The boy’s father is a member of the Railway Construction Company on active service in the Middle East. BOY STRUCK BY CAR Graeme Roberts, aged 12, suffered a fracture of the right leg when he was struck by a motor-car at the corner of Colombo and Armagh, streets shortly after 8 o’clock last evening. He was admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital, where his condition last night was reported to be satisfactory.
