N.Z. AIR FORCE BAND
HELP FOB PATRIOTICEFFORT v ’ ; ■ (P.A.) WELLINGTON, May 2. An opinion that the band of the Royal New Zealand Air Force had a definitely stimulating effect on the morale of the 'people, especially in the present difficult days, was expressed by Mr R. H. Nimmo, deputy-chairman of the Patriotic Council. Mr Nimmo said that directly and indirectly this wonderful musical combination had been instrumental in raising for patriotic purposes approximately £30,000. Mr Nimmo added that two years ago, when he visited Great Britain in connexion with the Centennial Exhibition, he had the privilege of receiving auditions from several military bands, and he had np hesitation in saying that in his opinion the band of the Royal New Zealand Air Force had reached such a high standard of efficiency in such a remarkably short time that it was up to the standard of many of the permanent regimental bands in Britain. .
