" - ' CLOTHING DRIVE Householders' in - Lyttelton who see a policeman entering their front gate to-morrow afternoon will have no reason to he alarmed, for the Lyttelton police, in conjunction with the post office staff, are conducting a drive for clothing, for refugees from bombed areas. Clothing for children is especially sought, but adult clothing and material which may be made up will also be acceptable. ; Yacht Club Auxiliary A shop, organised by the women’s auxiliary of the Canterbury Yacht .and Motor-Boat Club to pay subscriptions of members overseas, was conducted in London street yesterday. Music Recital.—The last recital of this term’s series was given at Canterbury University, College yesterday. The'programme consisted of Sonata in G Minor by Purcell (Miss Honda Griffiths, violinist* Miss Isla Barter), and Sonata in F Mfijor by Mozart (pianist, Miss Bessie Pollard). There was a:large attendance of both students and the general-public.
