j The Greymoutfa Citizens’ committee has not yet. announced the names of prospective candidates for the forthcoming elections, but these are expected to-day, and it is thought that the majority of the seats will be conNames of candidates to contest seats oh various local bodies have been approved by the Westland Labour Representative Committee, but the, posttlons for which they will stand will not be, generally, known, until after >the nominations dose. The Labour candidates include Messrs J. B. Kent, A. H. McKane, .and J. R. Anderson (at present members of fhfe Greymouth Borough Council), P. Blftnchfield, jtih. (a former' councillor), J! Harrison (railways locomotive branch), T, Caldwell, F. Willitois ; (former Mayor dl Brufinerton and former member of the Grey Hospital Board); J. Stokes (member; of th6< . management ; committee of the 'West CdaSf Rugby league* and E. Hillman (Secretary;.of the Grey* mouth Waterside WOfkers*, Union)/ ■
All the members of the Grey County Council, and .Grey Electric Power Ektiurd will probably otter themselves for re-election.
The South Beach-Paroa Ratepayers* Association will'have at least one candidate' lor ,the South', riding to. the. Grey 1 Gotinty - election, Ale T. Ct. Jamieson,' at ' South Beach, after* -is -ftisft th# possibility at a/second' candidate being sponsored by the aESKJCJaiioIi.
