LEWIS EADY, LTD. . (P.S.S.) AUCKLAND, April 29. A net profit of £7513, against £7219, is shown in the accounts of Lewis Eady, Ltd., for the year ended March 31. It is proposed to maintain the ordinary dividend at 8 per cent, (final 4 per cent.), and the fixed preference dividend of 6 per cent. A proposal is to be submitted to shareholders to reduce the capital of the company from £37,447 to £31,151 by the return of 5s a share on 25,182 £1 preference shares, being capital in excess of the needs of the company. STOCK SALES RANGIORA There was a good entry of sheep at the weekly stock sale at Rangiora yesterday. Values were:—Fat lambs 18s 6d to 24s 7d, four-tooth wethers 14s 3d to 16s 9d. ewe lambs 18s 6d, ordinary to good lambs 7s to 15s 3d, s.m. ewes 8s 9d to 11s, springing heifers £6 to £8 10s, porkers 46s to 51s, slips 14s to 19s, weaners 5s to 11s. TINWALD There was a sharp decline in prices ruling at the stock sale at Tlnwald yesterday. The top price of the sale was 26s obtained for a single lamb and a pen of wethers realised 24s lOd. The best price for ewes was 15s 4d. There was a fair attendance of farmers. j FAIRLIE The yarding at the Fairlie sale comprised mostly ewe lambs, some of the lines being well above average quality. All classes of stock met with a ready sale, and values showed a slight firming on late rates. Extra good Romney ewe lambs sold to 25s 6d, good 18s -to 21s, medium 14s to 16s 6d, small 7s 9d to 11s 9d, good twotooth Romney ewes to 28s, good two-tooth halfbred ewes 19s to 21s, four-tooth halfbred to 20s, six-tooth halfbred to 18s, f.m. crossbred ewes 5s 3d to 7s 6d, rape lambs ,10s, small to medium wether lambs 5s to Bs. LORNEVILLE (P.A.) INVERCARGILL, April 29. There was a smaller entry of fat cattle than usual at Lorneville to-day. The percentage of bullocks and heifers was good, but good quality cows were In short supply. For bullocks and heifers the market was a shade easier, and cows were about £1 a head better. Good quality bullocks realised up to £l3 ss, medium weights £ll to £l2, handy-weights £lO to £lO Iss, lighter £9 to £9 10s, prime quality medium heifers up to £lO 10s, handy-weights £8 15s to £9 10s. small £6 10s to £7 10s, unfinished £4 10s to £5 10s, inferior £2 10s to £3 ss. The yarding of fat sheep was an extra large one, the majority of the offering being of good quality. Wethers were in short supply. For freezing ewes export' buyers operated moderately, and values were in keeping with last week’s rates. Heavy-weight ewes were in steady demand, and sold at a reduction of about 3s 6d a head on last week. Wethers also cased about Is 6d a head. Quality mediumweight wethers brought from 25s 6d to 26s 9d, medium-weights from 24s to 255,’ unfinished from 21s to 235, prime young ewes sold at up to 16s, prime heavyweights lls 6d to 12s 6d, medium 9s to 10s, inferior down to 7s.
